What is this noise?

Hi everyone,

I own an Xbox One (original console, bought in December 2014) and when I plug it in the power adapter seems to make a weird noise, almost like a fan. 

My guess is that its a fan, however I'm a bit concerned that it's something else.

Does anyone know what it could be?

Tried googling it? Literally first hit for "Xbox One power adapter fan".
