SLI HB Bridge worth it?

Lyssers

I have a rig with two different GTX 1070 Tis in it atm

is it worth it to get an HB SLI Bridge? And why are they like £50 a pop? I'm using the one that came with my MSI X370 Gaming Plus mobo right now, mostly gaming in 1080p but occasionally i'll use DSR or in-game render resolution settings to crank it up to 4K when the framerate allows it, but i'm using a 1080p monitor (with no plans in sight to switch to anything higher res cuz IPS is far more important to me)

nope, rocking 2x ribbons myself since the strix and G1 gaming aren't equally wide the HB bridge isn't ideal, but I got one with my Asrock Taichi so used it for a while till one day I was cleaning the pc and doing some maintenance I thought I'd try 2x ribbons since that'd put less physical strain on the GPUs being pulled together by the bridge (again not same width) and found no performance drops at all. also no increase of stuttering either.

Spoiler

Used my 1080’s at 1440 and surround 1080. Used a regular bidge, a default hb bridge and a fancy rgb hb.

Like the fancy ones when they match the board with light up logos. Prolly why they cost so much.

The matte black one that came with my board looks great too. Sure they don’t close much as at.

Prolly best to use 2 regular ones or a oem hb, results will be the same anyway.

If you watch YouTube videos about this, as I recall the data says that while the HB bridges do offer a measurable and consistent improvement over ribbons, the actual percentage improvement was very small, like 5% or less IIRC.

If you want every last FPS bump, then I suppose it could be worth it to you but if you're on a tight budget there are more effective places to put that money.

A better cpu would prolly improve it just as much if not more.
