i dont think you are doing that for $300 unless matrox cards are weirdly cheap on the used market... maybe take a look at older Radeon PRO cards? those had loads of mini DP

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Spoiler

a consumer GPU generally supports three or four displays, you would need at a minimum four cards and the IGPU, im not sure what the cheapest cards that support four displays at the resolution you are looking for but i really doubt you are getting under $300 sadly. the motherboard is probably $100 and i doubt that the GPUs are going to be under $50 each :/

Yea an unfortunate reality, thanks anyway i'll just keep hoping that someone else has some unheard of solution.

I am wondering if it is possible to run 13 VGA monitors from 1 computer. I need to do this as cheaply as possible ideally only 300ish bucks. all help greatly appreciated, Thanks.

You need active DP or HDMI to VGA Adaptors.

That might be complicated.

But for 300€ it might be impossible. The best you might be able to get is maybe 6-8 for that money...

Because there isn't a solution because you need active signal converters.

And those aren't cheap (like 10€ per Converter).

At the minimum, you need something like this:

https://geizhals.de/delock-displayport-vga-adapterkabel-schwarz-61848-a640483.html?hloc=at&hloc=de

Or that:

https://geizhals.de/digitus-hdmi-auf-vga-adapter-da-70461-a1491323.html?hloc=at&hloc=de

times 10 is around 130€.

Then you need a GPU for that...

and one of the cheapest solution is for example this:

https://geizhals.de/asrock-phantom-gaming-x-radeon-rx-570-4g-oc-90-ga0800-00uanf-a1840968.html?hloc=at&hloc=de

(you need 2x HDMI, 3x DP and one passive DVI -> HDMI adaptor wich is like 2,5€ or less).

Then you have enough for 5 Displays.

Depending on your Motherboard you can get another 2-3 Displays there.

But that's really the best you can do as modern graphics cards don't support VGA no more.

Another solution would be to get something used - wich might not be supported that well.

FOr example there were Radeon HD5870 and IIRC also 68x0 and 69x0 so called "eyefinity" editions wich had 6x mini DP.

Those might what you are looking for.

FOr example:

https://www.ebay.de/itm/Only-one-day-auction-for-2-Hd-Radeon-5870-2-Gb-Eyefinity6-shappire-gigabyte/113663835524?hash=item1a76e47d84:g:WAMAAOSwgJ1ccaxU:rk:8:pf:0

That's rather expensive as well as they are collector's Item and the last driver is like 3 years old or more.

13 monitors, with different images? or just the same, because that is an important question, do you need a wall with one desktop..

because a splitter solves the simple of the setups.

a 1 in 8 out splitter is only like 20-25bucks, so 2 of them and DVI-Analog on one port and VGA on the other, and clone, then you have 16 similar display outputs.
