Best ways to clean your computer

Squibbies18

Hello All,

I was wondering if you peoples had any tips and tricks for cleaning out a PC? I’ve pretty much only used compressed air maybe every 6 months or so to clean my system. I was wonder if there’s any general rule of thumb for how often you should be cleaining your PC and the best ways to do it.

Compressed air, be careful about the CPU fan, I only clean mine when I see a buildup on dust.

Hello Squibbies18,

I don't know the correct methods, but this is roughly what I do, it may be wrong:

  1. Inside the PC, I pretty much just use compressed air and use a cloth or cotton bud, to reach parts that are hard. My PC doesn't seem to attract a lot of dust in its current location.
  2. Outside my keyboard gets a good wipe down every daily, I use it a lot, due to work.
  3. The monitors, I just use a wet cloth that is safe for screens.
  4. If I notice a big build up of dust, I take apart that section and try to work out why it's building up so much dust and improve the airflow for example

And that's pretty much it.

Enjoy.

Compressed air cans are a sin.

Get yourself an electric air duster, worth the initial cost vs air cans.

Come Bloody Angel

Break off your chains

And look what I've found in the dirt.

Pale battered body

Seems she was struggling

Something is wrong with this world.

Fierce Bloody Angel

The blood is on your hands

Why did you come to this world?

Everybody turns to dust.

Everybody turns to dust.

The blood is on your hands.

The blood is on your hands!

Pyo.

That's why I have a good old fashioned beige case. You're all suckers falling for the windowed cases... all a ploy by the compressed air industry to sell more air.
