Corsair crystal 280x vs nzxt h400i

mrvpixel

Hello,

I will upgrade my pc case soon from a corsair 88r.

But im not sure if I should go for the 280x or the h400i.
I love the look of the 280x but I readed that the cooling isn't the best.

My specs are:
I5-6500 (cryorig h7 cooler)

gtx 1070

8Gb ram

atm im using 2 intakes and 2 outtakes fans.

I hope you guys can help me.

the 280x is a bit of a pain to build in from my experience and i prefer how the H400i looks so thats where my vote goes

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Well if you like the look of the 280X I say go for it, it's not a bad case just not the best Corsair has made. However, if cooling is a serious concern of yours I'd suggest looking at the Fractal Design Meshify C line it's similar-ish in style and has great cooling. There is also the Lian Li O11 which GamersNexus says is pretty much just a better version of the 280X.

For your particular system the cooling in the 280X should be enough to keep your system from thermal throttling (mostly looking at the GPU, your CPU should have no problem whatsoever), however you'll probably have slightly better temps in the H400.

You'll be fine with either case, so get the one you like.
