TV can go 1080p but YouTube I saying the vid is playing 720p

First off the, TV is old. It is at least 8-6 years old. I've check the model number and it did say it can go 1920x1080. Have check evert settings for displays but nothing help. The model number is Ua40h5552arxxm. halp pls

Is the video you are watching uploaded from the creator at 1080p?
Can your internet connection handle 1080p videos?
If you're connected to the TV via HDMI on your PC, check the screen resolution set for the TV.

Can you start a video and move it to your TV after words and see what resolution it is playing at.

Well, Linus' vid are in 4K so it can go 1080p

Yes, my internet can handle 1080p vis

Um, I use the Samsung apps YouTube on the TV

Is the tv connected to the internet with wifi or Ethernet?

It's an App Limitation then.
Hook up a PC/Chromecast/Alternative (Proven to Work) via HDMI, run Youtube 1080p-4K natively through the Browsers...

 

The APP on my TV got completely Disabled,..after an update because it was outdated hardware that won't keep up with new YT demands, so disabled by TV manufacturers.

 

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz
