Aside from the Thermaltake 600W PSU, seems like a decent system.

Brand new would cost about $1000, so maybe $750-$800 used?
(Edit: Looks like the motherboard is out of stock at some sorts leading to inflated pricing. So more like $900 new, maybe $700 used)

You don't need to build a new PC, this one can still perform great if you add a stronger graphics card to it.

The CPU is the latest generation from Intel (I know it's not the latest latest, but a 6-core 8000 series and a 6-core 9000 series perform almost identically).

What's wrong with the system you have now? Is it not meeting your requirements? What tasks are you doing and where is it letting you down?

dont bother selling. maybe sell the gtx 1060 for about 140$ and then buy a used gtx 1070.

you most likely dont have to. things arent that powerhungry.

what specific powersupply do you have? if its a poor quality powersupply you id suggest changing, but idk the specific model

dont expect most things to reach 240hz. that is just the nature of things.

that is an ok unit. nothing amazing but good enough (quality of the PSU is way more important than wattage).

you can upgrade to any GPU you can afford. the rtx 2060 is a relativly good buy these days.

It's important to know what the purpose of the machine is. However assuming it is meant for gaming, you can upgrade the GPU without introducing a bottleneck (okay maybe if you go nuts and buy the newest Titan or something). You don't need a PSU because of power limitations, it's just that your PSU isn't particularly good AFAIK (and I don't know too much so don't take my word for it). Make a separate post about the PSU and I'm sure one of the people on the forum who know much about this will give better advice. Also there is a PSU tier list on the forum somewhere, I always use Google to find it :P.

Which exact model is it that you have? If it's a Thermaltake 600W it's likely either Thermaltake Smart, or the Thermaltake TR2. Neither of which are good PSUs...
Wattage isn't an issue. A 8600K + GTX 1060 will only use 300W.

Edit: Posts just refreshed and I saw you already linked to your unit. From memory the Thermaltake Smart RGB is a bit better. Still not great, but better than the other two I mentioned.

that is because they are literatly the same chip. like they are 100% identical except numbers on the box.  (ok, they are perhaps slightly diferent, but they are identical to the consumer in practically every way possible)
