Generally speaking, an RTX 2060 should be plenty for 1440p 60 FPS (and even 144 FPS for eSports titles) gaming at high-ultra settings.

Do exactly what @martward said, and look up YT videos testing the RTX 2060 in the games you play.

Im deciding whether to keep my rtx 2060 or buy a 2070

Don't bother upgrading if your current graphics card gives you the performance you want. I know the step up program is tempting but consider the value.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

only you can answer the question. ask yourself if the performance of the 2060 is enough for you or not. (Also there isn't that much to gain for a 2070 here. maybe 10-15 fps

Not sure how you came up with those numbers, framerate really depends on the specific game.

For the OP: Upgrade if you're not satisfied with your current GPU performance. Otherwise, stick with the RTX 2060.

Yep, a RTX 2060 is a good card for 1440p gaming. Make sure to quote people when replying to them by clicking the small arrow button at the bottom of people's posts.

That really depends on the game and the settings. Most games out right now will play on 1440p@60fps on high-ultra settings. Just look at some reviews on YouTube, that'll give you a better idea and may show you the performance on the games you would like to play.

the 2060 is one of the better value we've had for the past year while the 2070 is one of the worst. Nvidia made the 2060 too fast for its 350 price tag imho, keep it.

It's  MAYBE 15% faster. Honestly even if it were FREE I'm not sure if I would bother going through the trouble of sending the card back, waiting without a GPU, then installing it again. I sure as hell wouldn't pay a 50% premium for that extra 15% performance and headache.

Here's some review about 2060 vs 2070. IMO stay with the 2060 because it's around 40% more expensive for 15% faster if you get the 2070.

Quote

When put head to head against the RTX 2070 we see that the RTX 2060 was up to 16% slower and that’s a worst case scenario. Meanwhile there were a handful of titles where the margin was under 10% and overall this meant the RTX 2060 was on average only 11% slower at 1440p. You have to wonder why anyone would spend over 40% more on a graphics card that’s not even 15% faster.

As seen on your signature, I would prefer upgrading the RAM to the faster ones like 16Gb 3200MHz DDR4 to get better performance out of that Ryzen 5, rather than bothering the GPU.

It's not about 4Gb/8Gb/16Gb/32Gb and so on. For Ryzen CPUs, it's not about the RAM capacity like how much "Gb" you are having, but the RAM frequency/speed like the "MHz" is the main factor, the higher its speed the better.. Faster RAM will unleashed Ryzen CPUs performance more.

I would say you better stay with 16Gb capacity but with the higher speed like 3200Mhz, and put your 16Gb 2400MHz somewhere else or just sell it to recover the cost of the new faster RAM.
