Okay, so I recently was scammed on a trading application and have lost pretty much most of my money, and as I'm less than 16 years old with a paperround that is pretty heartbreaking seeing as I only earn £13 a week. I was wondering if you know any ways I could make some easy money by helping people. I really enjoy helping others and I'm trying to buy a 2060 for my computer, once I've updated all the other old hardware.

You could always ask the people around you who may need help?

Parents, neighbors, grandma, etc?

Are you seriously saying you haven't asked your parents for money or allowance or ideas, but went straight to strangers spread out all over the world?

Put down the phone and look around you.  Real life is right there.

Edit:  It may sound harsh but I can't understand asking this on a tech forum on the internet instead of just asking people around you if they need help.

@jstudrawa Thanks for replying but if I'm honest I've already explored most options.

1. I don't have any grandparents.

2. My neighbours aren't exactly the friendliest people in the world.

3. My local area isn't exactly some sort of beautiful town, it's small, industrial and really boring.

I've really tried my best to look for jobs and small activities which earn money but there really isn't any local. As for my parents giving me money, that's a no as they have bills and other things to pay for rather than my computer experience. After being scammed I really got put down and that's why I'm here asking you guys.

So let's get down to the brass tacks... what are you looking for from us?  Sympathy?  Money?  Free stuff?

Cuz in Atlanta here, I sure as shit can't think of a way you can help me.  I'd love some yard work done.

You get what I a mean?  If you've used up ideas you seem  to have, and we're all a bit far away to cut grass, take care of our dogs, etc.....  What are you thinking?

At 15 you're old enough for a work permit to work.  Restaurants always hire wait staff and busboys, for example.  Pizza Hut/Dominoes need pizza makers.  Etc etc etc.

You're old enough to work like a man, something to look into if the  other options are no good for you.

At 15 I  worked as a busboy in a restaurant. At 15 my son worked as a stockboy at Hobby Lobby.  It's time to get a job, young man.

@jstudrawa Yeah I appreciate the fact that you worked as a 15 year old boy but like I said I'm from an Industrial town where to work you pretty much have to be 16-18 and no I'm not looking for money otherwise I'd of simply said so. I'm a straight up lad and I'm really just looking for ideas. I know this is a tech forum but surely people that enjoyed gaming at my age experienced the same trouble and are now older and living a life where they can afford expensive pc parts. All I want to get is a few ideas that I could do without any sarcasm, it may have been easier for you in your childhood, people grow up in different surroundings and situations.

Sounds like you have the answers, or anti-answers.

No one hires a 15 year old, understood.  No one has people who need yard work done, got it.

I've given you plenty of ideas, but you seem to have reasons that they are not viable.  Sarcasm or no, they're still viable.

My childhood easier?  If you think working since I was 14 and having to buy my own Commodore 128 was easier, then sure.

Last thing I';ll say... For you to say that your industrial only town (with NO restaurants or shops or car dealers (to wash cars) or any other shops that sell things) only hires 16-18 year olds...  What town is it?  I'll find plenty of jobs for a 15 year old.

Btw, I was and I have raised a teenager.  I know the schtick.  You need to go out and get what you want, and stop making excuses why not.

Make sure they'll actually hire you under 16, a lot of places won't.

@Hip I know mate I understand that but if i'm honest i'm all good with school. I'm hitting all my targets and I'm expected to pass most if not all of my GCSEs.

@jstudrawa Mate i'm not here for an argument. When I say there are no jobs for my age i'm serious. If I wanted a job cleaning cars or in a restaurant i'd have to rely constantly on my parents taking me back and forward to work, and here in the UK we can only work small hours (3-4 on weekends). As for working in a shop, most shops dont hire someone my age as we cannot hand over alcohol nor other products like cigarettes. They look for people that are willing to accept low pay at the age of 18.

That's a shame bro. Listen I think when I was your age I had the same thing going for me. I just wanted money. Take it from me, invest in the future (<- all caps). Start something fun like a YT channel. Get good gear and start something. But as for you current problem, in a neighborhood like yours, you're in a tough spot. Online is your safest bet. Good Luck!

At 15 I was an emancipated minor working and slanging drugs to make ends meet.  If you want a 2060 you have to do adult things (I am NOT SUGGESTING SELLING DRUGS) like...not play on apps were you trade things and lose money?  Sounds like the stock market, but bro, you are 15.  Save your $13 weekly until you can afford it...or quit trying to buy things made out of Unattainium. (unattainable).  Get things you can afford, that's what being an adult with money is all about (also see; your parents).

Im 34 work 1 full time corp job, own a few business' and I FINALLY had the budget to get me some used R9 Fury's off ebay for $140 each.

Why do you even think you need a 2060 other than you think you really need and want a 2060?

@phoon ahha no pal have used this picture for ages now idk why rly.

@Tristerin Hey! I don't necessarily need a 2060 but with all the upcoming games in the future I thought a one off expensive buy was the most obvious choice, as I wouldn't have to upgrade for a while. As for the trading applcation, the guy completely fooled me into buying a gpu, said he had sent it and even supplied a picture that he had but in the end it was just a fake image with my address and the package never came. I lost a lot of money and have contacted the bank in order to get the funds back but its not looking likely.

I really respect you man, growing up slightly rough and busting your ass to get where you are now. Good on you!

@RorzNZ Okay thanks man, I guess I could try that if all else fails.

My situation (emancipation) allowed me to legally work as an adult at 15 (I was legally 18).  You don't have that avenue.

Short term, go outside and pick up anything metal you can recycle that isn't illegal to take.  Ensure anything you have in the trash has been properly recycled of its metals.

Go around to your neighbors and ask if they have any appliances they want to get rid of.  Get a dolly and your bike, and get that stuff off their property and to a recyclers.

Most industrial towns have random dumps where people illegally dump.  Find some, get those metals.

Flip PC parts - when you get to the recyclers ask them if they have PC parts still not melted down (they melt them down for the coppers, golds, etc) they want to sell (use the money you just made recycling) pick up CPUs for $1, sell them for $4-5 (you may find a GEM of a CPU to sell for a HUGE profit, Ive seen it).  Pick up old ram for...next to nothing.  Resell it.  Same with anything they will sell you for next to nothing (they only get a small amount of money melting an entire computer down...its best for them to sell the pieces and they will)

AND DO NOT stand there on your phone looking up the prices for each piece or they wont sell them cheap.  Know your CPU's/GPU's/Motherboards/RAM identifiers.

I know you're on a tight budget but if you print out a few business cards and pass them around. Or print what you can offer on paper and find spots around your town where you can post it. Small grocery stores usually have a board outside where you can pin stuff like this. I see people offering rooms for rent, for example, or services offering yourself to walk their dog, etc.

So let's get down to the brass tacks... what are you looking for from us?  Sympathy?  Money?  Free stuff?

Kid clearly stated what was needed in the OP. Might wanna take that spot light out the kids eyes and let the "good cop" in.

only hires 16-18 year olds...  What town is it?  I'll find plenty of jobs for a 15 year old.

Not in the UK you wont. Legal Age here is 16

@OP cut grass, wash cars, tidy gardens, offer scrap removal and sell @ the dump, walk dogs, wash windows etc etc

or suck it up and wait till you're legally allowed to apply for a job.
