Thermalright TrueSpirit 140 Power vs Dark Rock 4

I came across this Thermalright cooler with pretty impressive specs. It appears though that the design is a bit "dated"

For around the same price I can get the Be Quiet Dark Rock 4.

Opinions?

Grab the Be Quiet Dark Rock 4 and do not look back.  TT is not that good of a company and very mainstream and what not.  Dark Rock 4 will give you amazing cooling with low fan noise and what not.

It's Thermalright, not Thermaltake. Thermalright is one of the best CPU cooler company out there, the Thermalright Le Grand Macho RT is one of their top tier air cooler.

Their not a bad company just not as popular as others.  They have been around a long time but not too popular.

The specs of the Thermalright look nice for sure. IMO stick with the dark rock 4 pro. Known good company and i like the looks better.

For me I'd have to stick with the Dark rock 4 pro, no US sellers? According to thermalrights site at least.

He's not talking about the Dark Rock Pro 4, but the non-pro version which is a single-tower cooler

Because the Thermalright cooler is also a single tower 140mm cooler, like the DR4

The True Spirit 140 Power performs better and the DR4 is quieter.

What cpu are you cooling and why are you looking at these coolers in particular?

i9 9900k . Going all air on this build. I've ruled out the DR4. Also, not interested in DRP4. Now it's between Noctua and Thermalright. I'm trying to go single tower. With so few reviews (about the TR140P besides a couple owners with i9 9900k and similar processors comparing the Thermalright 140 Powers performance to Noctuas very own D15S!

Cost isn't an issue. Honestly the more I read, the more I want to just go with the D15 and never see my RAM again.

Any opinions specifically on the Thermalright 140 Power? With a TDP of 360 watts it definitely has my attention...

Wait for the next gen Noctua NF-U12 with 7 heatpipes, or the newly introduced Dark Rock Slim

The NH-U12 is the fifth-generation of this design. The primary upgrade is the switch to Noctua’s own NF-A12x12 120mm premium fans that have been five years in the making and have an extremely tight clearance between the blade tip and frame. The NH-U12 uses two of them in a push-pull configuration, includes seven heat pipes, and has 37 percent more surface area compared to the NH-U12S. A live demo at the Computex 2018 booth showed the new cooler running next to the flagship NH-D15 and achieving performance within 1°C of it at 220W load. Noctua promises excellent PCIe and RAM compatibility with this cooler, and you can expect to see it towards the end of the year or early next year at a price of around 100 Euros.

The NH-U14S and True Spirit 140 Power perform similarly. If you're okay with overtightening, the True Spirit 140 Power performs a bit better. I'd personally go with the NH-U14S for the longer warranty and longer lasting fan.

Very nice indeed. If they are doing this to the U12 I'd love to see what they do to the U14 ...any idea of a release date expected on these?

Noctua stated they will be released in late 2018 or early 2019, and we're already in early 2019, but there's nothing from them..

In a live performance demonstration, the new cooler was pitted against the current flagship model at a heat load of 220W and showed near identical performance, despite being much smaller in size than the big dual-tower cooler, which will guarantee excellent RAM, PCIe and case compatibility. The new NH-U12 series cooler is currently scheduled for release in late 2018 or early 2019.
