How Much Would A Used Radeon 6950 2GB Sell For?

The_Edster

I have a used Powercolor 6950 2GB that I am no longer in need of (due to the arrival of a 780) and I was wondering how much it would sell for. I don't have picture but it has a single fan the rest of the card is open to the air other than the fan area. Thanks!

See what hashrate you can get out of it then sell it accordingly. A good 6950 can get ~520Kh/s with a decent overclock or ~450Kh/s for a sub par one. You could probably flog $250 - $300 for a good one and $200 for a sub par one.

*edit: if it's a good card make sure to advertise it's settings and hashrates :)

*edit: If you need help trying to figure out what settings you need, pm me and I'll be glad to help.

Used GPUs don't sell for much unless they are in great condition and the latest generation and even then the sell price will not even be close to retail. still if u dont need it anymore why not sell it better then having it collect dust in a box somewhere.

That's about what I though, that's good I am happy with that. Where should I sell it though? Should I put on Ebay or something? I thought about selling it in the forums but I am wary with it not being secure and all..

By open to the air, do you mean it is broken/modified, or is that the reference design for that card?

If it is broken/modified, then I would say right around 125-150 USD.

If reference, $175 would be about right.

** Reasons for pricing: the current Buy It Now prices on ebay are $175 or above for working cards. No reason to sell it for less than everyone else, so if it is functional, non modified, then $175 is bottom dollar right now.  If modified/broken, then cut a few off, $25-50 sounds about right to me.

No, by open to the air I mean it doesn't have an enclosure. There is just a black rim around where the fan is.

So you are missing the external air duct? (The square part that goes over the heatsink and fan. The part that has the rebranders name on it.)  If so, then look for around ~$150-160 for it. It will be functional, but just not optimal (the air duct directs the airflow. Temps will suffer without it.)

I think we are on the same page, for clarification I will post a picture tomorrow.

Label it as a bitcoin monster and you'll get at least $200... I'm kind of joking, but marketing does work and does play a part in how much it's "worth."

Ebay is much different than a tech forum: we may know it's only worth $100, but there are some miners (or laymen gamers) that just see hashrates (or a gpu) and will pay $150-200 for it.

So your saying I should label it on Ebay as a great Bitcoin mining card?

Yeah. It can easily get about half a 7970 hashrate and those go for ~$400.
