Information Technology vs Electrotechnology

I want an career in computer hardware repair. But I don't know if it come under Information Technology or Electrotechnology ?

Information Technology would probably be closer, but I suspect you won't learn what you need (hardware repairs) at schools. Most will teach you theory that won't apply to real world practical situations.

IT don't cover knowledge to the pcb level. That is what elecro's do.

Information Technology is mostly programming and such isn't it? Maybe with some networking thrown in?

Doesn't really have much to do with hardware repair TBH. All my friends who are in IT are more software/trouble shooting focused. Sure, they put together computers and can diagnose some problems, but it's definitely not advanced hardware repair.

School mostly teaches the theoretical part (with some exceptions, of course), and most practical knowledge is gained from internships and whatnot.

Electrical/Electronics engineering. Or get trained as a technician.
