RGB not working on ASUS Moptherboard

I have an ASUS ROG Strix Z370 Gaming-E motherboard and the lights on the heatsink stopped working after I moved my tower and unplugged the PSU. All other case lights, RGB RAM, GPU lights, etc. work fine still. I tried restarting the computer, messed with settings and reset the AURA app, and even uninstalled it and reset it. I did a BIOS update as well and nothing seems to get them going again. I know its a 1st world problem and it doesn't really matter but it's still kind of annoying for a $200 motherboard that I've had for less than a year. Any ideas?

Something might have come loose, the heatsink does actually have a cable that needs to be plugged in. Unscrew your heatsink and make sure the cable for it is plugged in or that all the wires and connections are intact.

Sorry this is a few months later, but did you solve the problem? I am dealing with the same thing. Thinking about taking out and putting back in the CMOS battery.

I have not found a fix so far. Its here any harm in taking the CMOS battery out?

Try reinstalling Windows.. I had it where the lights were working but I couldn't control anything through Aura Sync and I had to reinstall windows to make it work again..

I just went through an issue like this as well. What worked for me was to uninstall Aura, reboot and reinstall Aura version 1.04.29 and reboot. Open Aura and and click on default and all my RGB came back on. I then have updated to 1.07 after that and all is fine.

Still not sure what made them go to begin with.

Also 1.04.29 was hard to find. I used this one https://d4.drivers.eu/4YGmg6/_7_14192142182232282332607fea8bee0d9a91cf5792bef51fca/75bf88adac80d8ebaf7d41b732f2707541a2dd9e87488755966aab4b3285ea94/5e0a2ceb/184016/5/20/4/1554899042/AURA_Win7_81_10_V10429_20170401.zip

Great, thanks. I'll give this a try and see what happens.

Hi, i have the same problem... this morning my RGB works fine (Maximus XI Formula) i went to the bios because i have problems with an USB device... reboot my computer and the d-rgb connect to a EKWB GPU Block and all RGB on the motherboard not work... i try with reinstall windows, set defaults settings in bios, reinstall armoury crate (new asus software to manage the motherboard) but nothing works

I think the motherboard is broken because the usb device failure and now the RGB failure... any idea?

P.D: The usb failure: Unknown USB Device (Port Reset Failed) ->

Windows detuvo este dispositivo porque informó de problemas. (Código 43)

After hours of scouting the internet.  I found a solution.

Lighting_Control_1.04.22

Uninstall Armory, and Aura.  Reboot.

Clean your Registry of all the stuff Aura and Armory don't clean out.  I used CCleaner (free)

Reboot

Now the fun part,  Go to Look for drivers for Z270-f ( yes for your Z370-f) https://www.asus.com/in/Motherboards/ROG-STRIX-Z270F-GAMING/HelpDesk_Download/

Go to the Utility section, expand it,  and look for Lighting_Control -  not the one label AURA.    Install that. Reboot,  Open the new "Aura" and boom!

This Video led me to the answer.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NO7RqyMDfuY
