We shall see. I have no idea what your CPU or GPU will be able to do next year since I can't see the future (although I'd wager the GPU is at least going to be relevant)

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

That CPU is going to last much shorter than the GPU will, unless some freak catastrophe occurs which permanently cripples the GPU for life(ESD or otherwise, for example).

I don't know exactly how that would work. Are you sure the video you're watching is comparing your 6th gen Core i5 to the 7700K?

If your i5-6402P is performing the same as an 8700K, then there's something fishy going on. Can you provide a link to the video?

Pick a different title. That one could just be horribly optimized, because there's no way your CPU does as well as an 8700k in all games.

No hyperthreading, one generation older, lower clocks, it's definitely not comparing to the 7700k in all games (are you sure you set the benchmarks parameters correctly?)

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

8700k, but if you're asking about upgrades then it's cheaper and more convenient to get an i7 7700 off eBay.

I suggest you get an i7 7700k as games are using more threads .

And then you may upgrade to another gpu down the road as a 7700k is pretty capable.

Even my i7 880 is still rocking !

Not a huge difference. A used 7700k is more convenient.

Oh well if you don't have a used market then consider a Z370 motherboard and an 8700k. I don't know about local jsed options

If the 7700k is all you can afford then it would be fine, it's just that since it's 2 generations old it should have dropped in price but it hasn't so it's not very good value.
