Hey,

So I asked my parents for a gamepad for my birthday and they don't understand why I need it for my PC even tho I've explained multiple times. Anyways, I'll probably not get one and that's why I'm writing this.

Is there any way I could make it so in racing games when I press W it doesn't full throttle but instead when I press W 50% down in the game it also registers as 50% throttle. I think LTT made a video about this but I couldn't find it. Thank you!

An analog keyboard (technically not analog.. But close enough) will allow for that.

On a normal keboard you either press a key, or don't. No inbetweens. An analog keyboard has a set number of states, which it can give the game so the game can decide if you are full throttle or half throttle.. Steering a lot of not at all.. etc.

Like the Wooting One, which might be the one you're thinking off in this video:

They start talking about that board at around the 2:50 mark.

Some laser keyboards allow for that. The Wooting has that ability, IIRC.

Oh aww. I have the corsair Strafe RGB Silent switches. I guess I'll have to beg them lol.

If you want to get a controller on the cheap, you could look for second hand Xbox One or 360 controllers, or maybe look for a deal on a new one. I once came across an Xbox One controller (plus Fallout 4) for 30 euros; so the deals are out there.

I"m surprised you are not able afford a game controller while having a such premium gaming keyboard. There are some good and really cheap chinese controllers out there with xinput that work well considering you can't even get a xbox 360 controller which is also reasonably priced and should be affordable in most scenarios.

It's not that we can't afford it. My parents just don't understand why I need a gamepad when I have a PC. And If I had my own money they still wouldn't let me buy it...

Yeah they don't let me buy anything with their approval. But you know life is life. Can't do anything about it. And I mean come on... IT'S MY BIRTHDAY! IT'S JUST 45 EUROS!
