I appreciate your reply, and honestly that looks like a fantastic monitor (the XG2402) so far top of my list to consider, and saves a bit extra cash for other things.

I was looking on Amazon for the XG2402 and noticed that the 240Hz monitor is not that expensive either. You might want to consider it:

Hi all,

Hopefully you guys can help! I'm looking for a monitor but I don't know what to look for in a good one. I know I'd like a 1080p 144hz one. I'll start with my specs, I have a GTX 1080 16gb ddr4 3000 mhz ram i5 7600k. Can you guys recommend any monitors or even 1440p with 60 hz? Just a heads up I'm in the UK and my budget would be at the maximum £500 GBP. I'd like a decent viewing angle and I mostly play shooters but I do like good colours in my games as I play a wide variety.

If you have any more questions I'm more than happy to answer.

If you play a lot of shooters 1080p144 > 1440p60.

I really enjoy my ViewSonic XG2401 (XG2402 should be the newer version), but there might be more expensive monitors that will fit your budget.

I noticed that, but am I really going to not only notice that much a difference from 144 to 240 and/or really utilise that with my current specs. It's highly unlikely i'm going to get 240 frames on most modern shooters.

Yeah, I thought that might have been the case. Just wanted you to know that there was the possibility. But choose whatever fits your use case the best!

As usual, respect your replies very much! I saw the 27 inch one but I think that may be too big, i currently have a 24 inch and that seems perfect fit and for an extra 100 pound... 144hz is more than enough. Hopefully more people can offer alternatives before i take the plunge on pay day at the end of the month!
