Looking for high refresh IPS 1080p Freesync 24" monitor

Gershy13

Im not even sure if there are any monitors on the market in my budget that will cover this, but if anyone knows, please let me know.

Im currently running a AOC i2369VM IPS (60hz, overclocked to 75hz) and Dell p2417h IPS (60hz, only hits 67hz overclocked)

Im looking for a third monitor which will then be my main gaming monitor. Ideally i would like to not spend more than around £150. Things im looking for, Freesync over DP (so it works with my GTX 1060), 75hz or higher (144hz would be nice but i highly doubt that would be a thing in this price range.) and IPS. And also with similar enough looks to the AOC or Dell that it'll blend in on a 3 monitor arm (not sure how i can get them to all look the same and blend in as they look quite different.)

If anyone knows of a monitor that can pull it off, please let me know...

Thanks

Gershy13

Doesn't need to be IPS. VA panels and TN panels have come a LONG way. My VA panel has perfect viewing angles with 0 color shift from any angle. I've got a couple options for you,

#1 https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?item=0JC-000P-007S4 This Aopen panel. A lot of the times these chinese manufacturers get wholesale displays from providers like Samsung so you might, accidentally, come across a display that beats the pants off of its higher priced, name brand competitors.

#2 https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824475023&ignorebbr=1&source=region&nm_mc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC&cm_mmc=KNC-GoogleAdwords-PC-_-pla-_-Gaming+Monitors-_-N82E16824475023&gclid=CjwKCAiAyfvhBRBsEiwAe2t_i-uihOl_mIvxXfSzRLEGJcuCdjKKDG9dM9IODRYiLfFGmDsz_doe3xoCeS0QAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds This MSI OPTIX MAG240VC. As someone who uses an MSI, 144hz VA panel at this very moment(my display is an MPG27C, a bit more expensive but probably the same tech) I can recommend this monitor from personal experience.

I forgot to mention im in the UK, so i would need UK available products...  And My current Monitors are IPS, but the AOC one is a lot better than the Dell in terms of color reproduction and accuracy. I do use my PC for creative work in photoshop and premiere etc, so i would like all three to be IPS as the main reason i want 3 monitors is for editing...

Then use 2 for photoshop work and 1 for gaming. Finding an IPS 144hz display at 150 pounds would be impossible unfortunately. 150 GBP is 192 USD, try googling the MAG240VC and see if it's available in the UK in your budget, otherwise you'll be hard pressed to find a 144hz IPS display close to your budget. TN's wash out colors while VA's don't REALLY wash them out.

nope, i cant find that in the UK.

I dont need 144hz, even 75hz or 100hz would do, as i only have a 1060 6gb, and its not going to push out 144hz constantly... (im mainly playing fortnite) (my fps goes from around 85-160fps in game, but usually stays at around 120/130fps)

VG245H is on special on amazon, pretty much on budget.

all 75hz.

unfortunately the asus one is TN, and the LG cinema (2nd one) does not have DP, so freesync would not work on my 1060. The first LG one looks promising tho.

In which case 1440p would suit you better. This goes a  over budget, but it is 75hz 1440p AND IPS 10 bit baby !

£219 is quite a fair bit over my budget, and i doubt my 1060 would be able to push games at 1440p, also 32" is really big! Not sure it would fit on my desk haha!

This is a bit of a stretch but if you could save up some extra money, Dell U2518D's are great for photo editing. Any Dell Ultra Sharp monitor I've had the pleasure of using has had wonderful color quality. The u2518d is 1440p but a 1060 should be able to drive it for photo editing, not gaming. You need to ask yourself how important Free Sync is and, at such a low price point Free Sync is usually unnoticeable. Nvidia has made it more mainstream but most of us have known that certain Free Sync monitors have much lower quality free sync while others are better. V-Sync is a thing that exists and I'd say you be better off with plain old V-Sync than trying to find a monitor that jacks the price up to list Free Sync as a feature. If the u2518d isn't appropriate for your needs then you might want to look at u2415. It's only 60 hz, lacks free sync but is incredibly color accurate. Look it up and you'll see swaths of reviews talking about how color accurate it is, some going as far to say it's the "best 24 inch monitor you can buy". It has the following ports for connectivity,

2 HDMI(MHL) connector
1 Mini DisplayPort
1 DisplayPort (version 1.2)
1 DisplayPort out (MST)
1 Audio Line out (connect your speakers)
5 USB 3.0 ports - Downstream (5 at the back, 1 with battery charging)
1 USB 3.0 port - Upstream

thanks... the main reason im looking to upgrade is for gaming, with productivity being an added side benefit, so im looking for a main gaming monitor that will double as a good content creation monitor.

I found one from AOC which looks perfect, but it doesn't have a vesa mount which is really annoying... Other than that it meets my needs exactly... It's really thin and looks nice too which is a plus, and it's only £130....

Another one I found was from LG, which is also nearly perfect, but the bezels are quite big and looks a bit like it's out of 2010 which is a bummer... It wouldn't suit the desk and the monitors I currently have very well... Other than that tho, specs look solid... It's a little bit more expensive at around £150/160, but that's not too bad...

But thats all i can find for any price, let alone under £150...

EDIT: Apparently im wrong, that LG one doesnt have a VESA mount either....

If I were you I'd ditch freesync. Lower end monitors, generally, have cheaper implementations of it.

yeah i think ive decided just to wait... Im going to try and wait a bit longer and get a 144hz one in the future when i can afford it, that'll give me more of a benefit than just freesync.

Good choice. But, do note a color accurate 144hz display will be very hard to find for a decent price. 144hz displays are aimed at gamers so that means high contrast and low color accuracy. I still think you should consider the u2518d with it's 76 hz display when the time comes, financially for you.
