You will get a bottleneck with the 2060 due to slow RAM, but otherwise it should be okay as long as you don't intend on playing like Battlefield V or similar very thread heavy games.

If you try, you can probably overclock your memory to 2666, that'd be a good enough base speed generally.

Not a bad price, but for about 100 you should be able to get 16 in a 2x8 config. I'd personally just keep your current config and see if you can OC the memory a bit. It's not worth buying new memory just for the extra speed right now, not if you're sticking with 8GB.

OK thanks for the advice but in the long term to get the best from a 2060 would i need to upgrade to a ryzen 5

Basically, yes :) 

 

The R3 is a great budget processor, but it's not really meant to be paired with the higher end cards. What might be even better is waiting for Ryzen 3rd gen later this year. The Ryzen 3 processors in the lineup are expected to be 6 core chips for the same price as your 1300X.
