Hi, i have a sapphire r9 290x and was wondering if it is worth it to upgrade it to an rtx 2070 now or ir is it better to wait

You can just wait a week, right now it is CES, and AMD should show off their new 7nm gpus there?

So wait and see how these turn out, and make a decision with that.

It would be a good performance boost but I couldn't personally justify the cost (of any RTX cards). AMD will show off their new GPU lineup this Wednesday so I'd wait on that. Rumor has it they will launch a RTX 2080 competitor for $250 (but dont get your hopes up lol).
