FSP vs SIRTEC OEM platform

IoanK

Hi,

I would like to ask if anyone can explain the difference between OEM platforms for power supplies, FSP and SIRTEC.

I have a case, Aerocool PLAYA SLIM RGB and i need a power supply for it but i don't know which one:

- be quiet! SFX Power 2 300W which it seems is a OEM FSP

and

- Chieftec SFX Series SFX-350BS 350W bulk which is a OEM SIRTEC type

i don't know what are those FSP and SIRTEC meaning, please help BRO (joke) :D

Seems both are okay entry level SFX PSUs. The Bequiet has a better efficiency rating, so it likely somewhat better quality.

Wouldn't fit a beefy GPU and i5/R5 in there, but for a compact budget rig, they should be good enough.

FSP and SIRTEC design the PSUs internally, and third parties such as Chieftec and bequiet use those with their own branding, there's not much to explain there.

PC Specs - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D MSI B550M Mortar - 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR4-3600 @ CL16 - ASRock RX7800XT 660p 1TBGB & Crucial P5 1TB Fractal Define Mini C CM V750v2 - Windows 11 Pro

Chieftec isn't generally high quality. you might want to look into the corsair sfx lineup

FSP is a WAY better OEM than Sirtec/Sirfa/High Power.

But why are those your only two choices?

Both are shit...

Though if I'd got put a gun to my head to choose between those, I'd probably choose be quiet because they know what they are doing.

With Chieftec I have my issues...

But both aren't great.

I'd rather go for the SilverStone SFX Series ST45SF V3.0

But rather look at gold ones though (NOT CHIEFTEC!)

Agreed.
Chieftec always has some dealbreaker that kills their units. The fan noise of the Power Smart Series, the Fan Controller of the SFX...
