Home network status monitoring

Hey guys, I'm looking for some sort of program that can run in the background and log issues with the network connection like slowdowns or disconnections, preferably free and simple. From what I saw on my brief google serach it seems most are more server/business oriented (makes sense tbh), looking for something simpler and easy to use. anything like that?

Look into PRTG. I know it's (mostly) free, but simple sort of remains to be seen.

Maybe WireShark?
