Looking for a ~$600 build

Toon

Hello, I am looking for a good $600 build (Not a hard price. Can be expanded, but I'd prefer to be around that area).

All I will be doing on this is:

Programming (Java & C++)

Playing lightweight games (I am no heavy gamer. Literally the most intensive game I play is probably Runescape or Minecraft).

Capable of running 1920x1080

If possible, please try to throw in a nice 1920x1080 monitor. I am no hardcore gamer once more, so I don't need any of that 1ms monitor type of deals.

Are you alright with used parts?

$600 in used parts will get you further than $600 in new parts, trust me.

As long as they don't burn down my house.

I can see why you wouldn't want that.

I'll have a look around for some parts. Brb.

Well I got this:

You can add an SSD and possibly upgrade the GPU (if you need to) in the future, but for now that should do fine.

I would look for a monitor used. You can pick up a cheap 1080p monitor for probably like $50. You can also get a used GTX 970 if you want more GPU power. You shouldn't need it though if you're only playing super light games. You might be able to pick up a used i7 or overclockable i5 system for around $350-600 though, depending on whether or not it has a GPU, then throw in the aforementioned GTX 970 if it doesn't.

Because it's a cheap 4 core. A Ryzen 3 1300X is basically the same CPU and $35 more.And a GPU for obvious reasons.

I apologize for the late response due to final exams, but I thank everyone for their replies!

I'll be looking through and see which seems the best fit.

Not sure about runescape, but minecraft hardly uses GPU at all. OP might be better off paying a bit more for a 2600, and only using the integrated graphics.
