Posted December 5, 2018 Hi everyone! I'm looking for a bit of support regarding water cooling my graphics card. Problem so far is, I'm struggling to figure out what block I need to be going for. I have the MSI GTX 1080Ti Armor OC Edition, which at the time was a great choice, but looking at the difficulty of getting a water block, it's no longer an amazing choice. What I need help with is the following; I have found the following block from EK and I want to know if it will be compatible with my card, if not, can you amazing people offer any suggestions? https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-fc1080-gtx-ti-tf6-acetal-nickel Note - My card does not have any form of "backplate." I also plan to use this in the EK A240G water cooling loop (from what I understand, there shouldn't be any galvanic corrosion between the nickel and aluminium right? Any and all help is extremely appreciated guys. Cheers, Flinty
Posted December 5, 2018 pretty sure the armor card shares the PCB with the Gaming X? I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays... nothing, it just sits there collecting dust... So anything that is slated to work with a Gaming X card from MSI will work, the founders will NOT. https://www.gamersnexus.net/hwreviews/2927-msi-1080ti-armor-review-high-temps?showall=1 Community Standards | Fan Control Software Please make sure to Quote me or @ me to see your reply! Posted December 5, 2018 Author Hi everyone, thanks for the rapid response. Upon further inspection, the water block matches the Gaming X perfectly fine, what I now need to know is the following, is a backplate needed? Also, will the nickel cause any issues with the all aluminium A240G kit? Thanks Again, Flinty
 Posted December 5, 2018 Author I am yeah, from what I’ve read a 240 should be able to handle the cpu and gpu, if needs be down the line getting a 360 to replace shouldn’t be a difficult task.
