I am trying to clean install my pc, and boot from a usb drive with windows, but it was coming up with the error 'Windows setup could not install one or more boot-critical drivers', so I did some research and found that the error was happening because I had a MB driver cd in my pc. The only problem was, I don't have an optical drive. So I went back onto my computer, and realised there was two extra drives. One of them is 'CD Drive (E:) MB Support CD', and the other is 'USB Drive (F:). I have no usb or cd in my PC. I tried ejecting them, didn't work. I tried uninstalling them in disk management, didn't work. Please help, I'm very frustrated. 

My MB is ASUS ROG Rampage VI Extreme. Thank you!

PS I only have 2 drives in my computer. Disk 2 and CD ROM 0 are the ones 'virtual' ones.

Sounds like the drive has multiple partitions on it, you might need to delete them all from disk manager, re format it and start again

I don't think I've ever seen a CDFS drive before. Where did you get your hard drive from? Did it come with the PC?

 

I did a search on Google and it looks like there a few complex and annoying ways to remove it but if you're just going to do a clean install anyways I would grab something like GParted or some other bootable partitioning software and completely wipe the drive.

So I did some more research and it looks like that MB Support CD is specific to ASUS so at some point in time it got installed with some ASUS software (possibly drivers). It looks like a lot of people are running into this problem but I can't find a solution.

 

I'm guessing this was a Windows 7/8 upgrade to Windows 10 right?

I built my pc. Thanks for helping though. Im really stuck and have no idea what to do. Should I call ASUS?

I know, but I don't have anything plugged in. It appeared there when the cd appeared which was after I downloaded drivers

1) did you use the official media creation tool to make the USB? https://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/software-download/windows10

2) did you unplug all drives other than your OS drive?

3) did you delete all the partitions when you got to this screen? If you were able to reach this screen?

I downloaded it onto my usb using a disc from another pc. I the disk came with the key. Everytime I try booting from bios, it has the error. I don't have any usb or cd in my pc apart from the os drive
