Best 4K TV (NOT SMART)

I want to buy a 4K TV that's 45-55inches and IS NOT a smart TV. I see ones at MicroCenter that are in store only deals and it's a HiSense 4K 55in for $299. I also see Samsung 4K HDR LED 55in TVs for $299. I am not looking to spend a ton just need a decent 4K TV without a built in Roku

The vizio m or p series aren't too bad. They have minimal smart functionality built in. They also have a built in 4k chromecast which is awesome!

Why would you need to use the interface if you're connecting the tv to a different device?

The only "interface" you would need to use is the on/off button and possibly the volume buttons if you're using the built in speakers.

Right but they don't have roku OS. I guess it isn't the biggest deal breaker as everything seems to have a smart function in it.

Why does that even matter?

If you're connecting the tv to a separate device you never have to access this "roku OS" or whatever, the tv acts as a regular monitor.

If you don't touch the smart features then they're basically not there.

pretty much all tvs but scepter have some sort of built it stuff.....just dont turn it on....i have a 65" samsung and i just never started any of it up....so go with the hisence or the samsung and just dont enable the intv app stuff

oh and you WILL access the tv's menu for settings...like samsung and hisence they have a game mode to lower the rs...you have the option to turn on or off uhd and hdr...
just dont enable the app stuff

one early September morning I had to make a 3 am Walmart run for some decent wool socks. They had every "dumb" TV on sale. I picked up 2 55" 4k class Vizio D series for $249.00 a pop. Had I known that the future of smart TVs was going to be this stupid, I would have grabbed a few more; or at least a higher class product. All of the mid and high range smart TVs will do you just fine, the settings menu is your friend. I hate most "smart" things because the features can get in the way of my tinkering. I am waiting for the day when I can just buy some giant, and beautiful displays A la carte. until that day comes, ill be looking for the dumb tubes. really seems like the end of an era...

TCL brand is your answer most likely, watch the LTT video on it. Here is what you do. Unpack your brand new TV. Throw away the remote that came with it and buy a cheap universal remote. Your smart TV is now a dumb TV.

 

Hint: You're not going to get a decent display without smart features unless you get a projector.

What a weird post... I believe all 4k and modern TVs are smart now and I don't think you can find 4k without smart features. Anyway, if you don't want extra (smart features), just don't use them, simple as that.
