Graphic card to buy in Dec. 2018

I am building my first PC. I have been using prebuilt PC for my school for long time. It is time to change since I graduated and got the job!

I use my computer for mostly for autocad and some gaming.

I need hybrid (watercooled) card due to my case configuration.

I am looking at GTX1070 for $330 or GTX1070ti for $550 or GTX1080 for $750. These are my option. I gave up on RTX because they do not have hybrid version yet.

I am willing to switch to RTX next year or so when they release hybrid version but I cannot wait till then. Please tell me  which card is worth for me in these options??

If you have the money go for the GTX1080, but if you aren't doing a high refresh rate or high resolution gaming, then you can just by the GTX 1070.

Thanks for your reply. But I was curious, does gtx 1080 hybrid usually priced for 750dollar?

I think that's a little much for a 1080. I could buy an air cooler 2080 for that money

I would choose the 1070 here, if you're paying that much

So now I am going more towards to 1070. But how about 1070ti for 550 dollar? Do you think performance difference between 1070 and 1070ti is not worth 200 dollar extra?

What about a used card from the local tech forums? IF, like me, you can meet and deal directly with the seller, that would be best. I'd snagged a GTX 1080 for about 330USD, yes, I was fully aware it was a ex-mining card used for 6 months, but it still had about 30 months of warranty left when I got it. AN OC'ed GTX 1070 Ti (or a good OC'ed version of it) is about on par with a stock GTX 1080, but then, all you need to do is OC the latter a little and it leaves the GTX 1070 Ti behind.

It's a pity that there's no VEGA, I'm using one for gaming on a 3840x1080 monitor and it's surprisingly good, handles Strange Brigade, DOOM, Titan Fall 2 and Metro Redux series at max ingame or near max ingame. Just played Forza Horizon 4 at max detail (with my spanking new Logitech G29) and I must say, I enjoyed both the eye candy and a more immersive driving game with the wheel.

Yea I was looking into Vega series but it was just not available at my location. Price of GTX series are just unbelievable theses days. Especially I need specific version of it.

I ended up finding 1070ti for 400 and I just bought it. It seems reasonable price for performance almost similar to 1080. Saved 300 and bought 32gb ram instead of 16gb and 1tb m.2 instead of 500gb.
