Is it hard to swap the cooler?

Hi P

I basically have all the parts needed to turn on my computer, but by doing so I would have use the Wraith Stealth Cooler included with the Ryzen 2600, my Dark Rock Pro 4 arrives in around 5 days or more I think.

Would it be hard go change the cooler once everything is assembled inside the case?

Thank you

I can confirm this. Don't mess around with computers without knowing what you're doing, bad things could happen. Look for tutorials online, I'll post some here soon.

if you find releasing 4 screws is difficult, don't do it.

I'm pretty sure @Hi P built it themselves, but installing aftermarket coolers (which are designed for many different types of socket) is harder than installing a stock cooler (which is designed exactly for that socket).

You will never learn if you do not try.

That being said. Just give it a go and be carefull! If you don't use force it will be hard to break anything ;)

The cooler will usually come with a installation guide.

You want to follow the guide for installing the cooler on "Socket AM4"

The cooler will likely come with some cooling paste.

Find on youtube a video about this cooling paste and how to apply it. or just use a small blob. don't over do it. (Less is more in general)

If you feel like your cooler is secured in place.

Start your computer and run temperature reading software to see the results.

Good luck :D

if you have access to the area behind the socket on the motherboard when you remove the rear panel then there should be no problem really

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Yeah, you won't learn unless you try...

I taught myself to build PC after i dismantle my very first pc and upgrade it piece by piece.

Before the age of internet, i have to literally buy a magazine to read a guide to install something.

Mistakes is your friend, learn from it.

Don't be scared or afraid. You have to do it to learn how to do it. Watch tutorials online, watch LTT build videos, do whatever you need to feel confident that you can build the PC.

Just don't stay with your hand holding the thermal paste tube right above your opened PC after applying it on your CPU, the paste trail may drop onto the wrong place of your motherboard like PCIe or RAM slot gap hole, you will get hard time cleaning it..

The difficulty of installation depends on the cooler and socket.

Refer to the manual and videos.
