Antec Eleven Hundred v2 case and vertical gpu mount

Hi,

Anyone was thinking about putting vertical gpu mount in Antec's Eleven Hundred V2 case in place between extension slots and front case? Cutting its way into vents where two water cooling gromets are?

I have replaced original front acrylic with plain one - without cooling fan mounts - and I think there's enough space to mount it far away from front panel to allow for air flow, but actually far enough from extension ports to have them completely available as well..

Any thoughts?

Thanks in addvance

The cutout would not be far enough away from the acrylic to allow the fans to breathe sadly.

You could always use something like Cablemod's Vertical GPU riser which uses 7 PCI-E slots, but you'd have to use a CPI-E extender for your gigabit card at the bottom, aand im not sure if you'll have room because the bracket adds about an inch to the total length of the GPU (since it offsets it)

What I had in mind is to cut into this square mesh vent place - it's 1mm thick metal. Card is 2 slot wide, mesh is pretty much 2 inch wide, I should get around 1,5cm to side acrylic. Just tested original side panel - it has 2x 120mm fan originally embedded into it. They  probably would go little higher than card, but only for than an inch max..

PCI-E extender would not cover any of remaining ports, only drawback would be that card would hang on bracket itself, unless I come with any support fastened to case..

What do you think?

Since your original Acrylic side panel has vents in it, your GPU shouldn't thermal throttle even if they're not totally lined up.

@Mnpctech has a bracket for this kinda thing
