"cpu fan error" ( hyper 212 evo)

Go to solution Solved by Mixzzz,

I think the bios doesnt like those low RPMs... Is there any option to disable CPU fan fail warning or lower it?

hi, i recently just finished building my first pc and it all started up okay for the first time but it said cpu fan error. Which was quite alarming to me haha, but the cpu fan (hyper 212 evo) is actually working but at around 500rpm which is in red in the bios monitoring.  I have read a few threads with the same problem but got a bit confused. So can someone tell me if there a solution, is the fan faulty?

thanks

My Noctua NH-D14 did the same thing. I lowered the minimum cpu-fanspeed warning in the UEFI to 200 rpm.

If it's actually spinning at 500rpm, then it's fine. It should spin up more when the temperature rises. Just lower the threshold of triggering the alert in the bios.
