An Esports tournament with an entry fee and prize pool

I have a few friends that want to have an amateur esports tournament for the game Rainbow Six: Siege, it has an entry free of 30$ and the prize will go to the first, second and third place teams. This is aimed at U-18 players and teams. Is this possible or is it against the law in the countries of: United States, Canada, Mexico ?

Against the law? Maybe.

 

Is anyone gonna do anything about it? No.

 

Now, i think its against CoC to recommend anything illegal, but i'm not sure if it is or not.

Golf coarses use this format all the the time for their members, along with Pool/Darts competitions in pubs etc.

 

Very common format, i don't see it being an issue.

R6TM, gamebattles, GO4 and other tournements all have some sort of prize for the winner. As far as I'm aware there are no laws against holding a tournament with an entry fee. 

I would ask a tournement organizer from R6TM or something similar about what you are and aren't allowed to do.
