Help! | Gaming PC / NAS in Rosewell 4u cass

Okay,

Long story short I got the following case at a garage sale

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00N9CXGSO/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Now, I have been planning on building a decent gaming rig for a while (all I still need is ram, cpu, and gpu) and I wanted to combine my nas ahs my pc into this one unit. I will have 2 512gb nvme ssd's for my Gaming PC storage and, if needed, I can add a 128gb data 3 ssd for NAS OS. I watched Linus's video on the same similar setup, but I will be 100% I haven't worked with VM's or unRAID before. Is there an easier way to do this than creating a windows and unRAID VM? Like, for example, using share folders? Ideally, I dont want to compromise on the capacity of my system for gaming (like allocating cpu cores and ram to a VM) so an windows 10 solution would be most preferable. Any feedback and points in the right direction would be amazing!

Thank you

For my use, which has mostly been transferring steam games between machines, share folders in W10 have worked fine.

What are you currently using your NAS for and what could you possibly use it for in the future?

Main rig: i7 8086K // EVGA Z370 Micro // 16GB Gskill TridentZ 3200Mhz CL14 // Sapphire Pulse RX 7800XT// a variety of noctua cooling // Corsair RM750x v2 //  Fractal Meshify C

Secondary rig: R5 3600 // MSI B450i Gaming Plus // 16GB Gskill FlareX 3200CL14 // MSI GTX 1080ti Gaming X // Cooler Master V650 // Fractal Meshify C

Audio setup: Audient iD4 // Adam A7X // Sennheiser HD 650 // Sennheiser HD 25-II // Audio Technica M50x // Sennheiser Momentum 4

It's a pretty bad idea to combine the two in one system tbh. UnRAID isn't free and will require some basic Linux and server knowledge. I'd just grab an old SFF PC and use that as a NAS with file shares. You could even downgrade the CPU to a Celeron so it's more energy efficient.

PC Specs - AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D MSI B550M Mortar - 32GB Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR4-3600 @ CL16 - ASRock RX7800XT 660p 1TBGB & Crucial P5 1TB Fractal Define Mini C CM V750v2 - Windows 11 Pro
