Uhm... nobody cares if BTC has gained net value since 2011. We're talking about real people and real money going down the drain. I never denied it did though, no matter how hard you try to add that straw to your strawman.

Again, nobody cares about next year's bitcoin value... bitcoin brings nothing of value to society because it's based on old and outdated technology, and its continued presence in the market because of gamblers is actively hurting the research. More and more nations start seeing blockchain as a whole as a threat to their economy and blocking them with no distinction, mostly because of BTC. I'm the first to admit that if there ever was a good time to invest in BTC in the last 6 months it's now, but that doesn't do the world any good outside of selfish interest.

I waited that long for this?  Oh well.

 

I should also add that I as well could actually care less about BTC's or any coin's value over time for that matter.   I don't HODL coins.  I actively trade them.  Volatility is something I count on.

You seem oddly invested in the debate then if you only care about your profit and don't care about BTC. I'm worried about gullible people being conned out of their livelyhood, you seem to be worried about winning internet arguments...?

This is really funny when you think about it.  I guess you weren't a part of the argument?  If memory serves me correctly, you quoted me with sarcasm and now you place the "want to win" on me.  The ability to cast things onto others without self-evaluation.  I'll have to work on that skill. 

 

As far as me having a need to win.  Nope, not at all.  I just don't like misinformation often posted by folks who don't have first-hand knowledge of what they are talking about.  The fact of the matter is nobody knows what's going to happen in the crypto world.  All that happens today is arguing for and against it.  At the end of the day, nobody knows what is going to happen.  That includes you and me.  :D

I absolutely agree. 

 

The long game is for those who invest in different things.  My retirement check is a result of a previous career combined with investments, which allowed me to retire much earlier than my peers.  Guess what I do with most of that?  I reinvest it.  xD  I've also bought homes along the way which are now rental investments that not only pay for themselves, but pay me while they are at it.  Only fools sit back and cry about this and that.   The rest of us just make shit happen.

 

Crypto is supplemental income that I use for PC parts money.   I have a very expensive habit of buying most new tech and crypto makes it possible for me to maintain that hobby without cutting into other areas of my finances.  My kids love it because when dad upgrades, so do they (with my not so old parts :D).
