Ryzen 3 2200G + RX 560 - stupid?

So i got the itch to build a PC and i haven't built one in ages, my previous gaming rig was an MSI GT70 2PE Dominator Pro with an 8GB GTX 880m and 32gb of RAM, but unfortunately that died (some kind of power problem with the motherboard, they told me i'd need to replace it all which is out of my budget and isn't that interesting anyway) so this Ryzen APU deal looked pretty attractive because i found one locally for a bargain price, that was until i saw the benchmarks... now i'm wondering if adding a budget card to this build is worth it? Like will it make any difference and if so, how much? By budget graphics card i mean either the RX 560 or the GTX 1050, but most likely the former.

As for my needs i currently don't own any machine with any worthwhile graphics so basically as long as i can play something like Fallout 4 and maybe some Mass Effect Andromeda at 1080p at something like 30-40FPS on mid-high settings i'm happy think original PS4 type of performance, which i can't do with my current stuff, which is one laptop with graphics that struggle outputting just the desktop to a 1080p monitor in one laptop and an old mobile GPU in an other laptop which lets me play something like GRID 2 on low settings at 720p). My other option aside from building a PC is buying that same graphics card and connecting it as an eGPU which sounds nice but i don't think the ExpressCard 2.0 interface is gonna give me the results i want, not to mention i still need a power supply and i'm basically half-way into the build i want anyway.

TL;DR: Worth it to buy a Ryzen 3 2200G + RX 560?

P.S. Sorry if this post is too long, i haven't posted on a forum in ages, and not on this one ever.

I wouldn't say that it is stupid to pair the two. The RX 560 is nearly twice as powerful as the iGPU, and there's little premium on the 2200G over a 1200 ($8). I wouldn't go eGPU, even ExpressCard 2.0 is going to limit the GPU's performance. Just make sure to get a 1024SP RX 560.

Main Rig: CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5800X | RAM: 32GB (2x16GB) KLEVV CRAS XR RGB DDR4-3600 | Motherboard: Gigabyte B550I AORUS PRO AX | Storage: 512GB SKHynix PC401, 1TB Samsung 970 EVO Plus, 2x Micron 1100 256GB SATA SSDs | GPU: EVGA RTX 3080 FTW3 Ultra 10GB | Cooling: ThermalTake Floe 280mm w/ be quiet! Pure Wings 3 | Case: Sliger SM580 (Black) | PSU: Lian Li SP 850W

Server: CPU: AMD Ryzen 3 3100 | RAM: 32GB (2x16GB) Crucial DDR4 Pro | Motherboard: ASUS PRIME B550-PLUS AC-HES | Storage: 128GB Samsung PM961, 4TB Seagate IronWolf | GPU: AMD FirePro WX 3100 | Cooling: EK-AIO Elite 360 D-RGB | Case: Corsair 5000D Airflow (White) | PSU: Seasonic Focus GM-850

Thanks, i think i'm gonna go with this build then, one question though, do you think i can shove a Gigabyte AMD Radeon RX 560 OC into a mini-itx case? The card doesn't say it's mini-itx compatible and i've never touched not-full-tower cases before.

Depends on the case, but in most cases you should be fine. Just find a case that can fit a 190mm long GPU or longer.

It's fine, but the whole point of the APU is that you don't really need a dedicated GPU.

True, i was just wondering if it's worth getting a GPU at all on top of it, the thing is that APU is just the best CPU i can get right now because of the bargain price. I guess it's also useful if my GPU breaks down or something? Hah.

If you don't already have the RX 560 probably try to save money until you can get a higher tier GPU, or next gen GPUs are out.

Unfortunately i'm already saving money for the RX 560 as it is, so i doubt anything above that is going to be within reach for me in any case, especially with the current GPU prices...

But thanks for the suggestion, i'll keep an eye out to maybe snatch something a bit better if i see it if it's not too much more expensive.
