What happened to In Win 806?

MaktimS

Remember this case? In Win presented it at Computex last year. Since then nothing has really happened. They didn't even bother to bring it on CES. I was hoping it to be there, but there was just that wierd mechanized case with RGB instead. This makes me wonder, is it dead? Or is it just somwhere deep in development? What do you think? It looks like finished product to me so why would they just trash it?

I really liked that case. Although it would be probably out of my price range I'd still love to have it on my desk :D

probably just a one off prototype id guess, would be really neat if you wanted to hide your dope AF gameing PC in a cleanly decorated home, or to make a HTPC not stand out as much

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Spoiler

So you think it was just for showing off? That's pretty shame then.

Agree, it would make an awesome clean build

Yeah, it's pity that it's most likely not going to happen. The only way how you could possibly get a case like this would be by doing it yourself, I guess :D

follow up question: why do pcs seem to always be giant vertical bricks? what if i want a small brick or a sideways brick or something like this:

id personally love to see PCs of this size (and possibly even retro design) more often, and stuff like this: https://www.engadget.com/2012/09/13/atari-2600-pc-case-mod/ (which i am trying to re-create myself)

Instead of experimenting with new shapes and sizes, manufacturers play it safe so they can make the most money. That's the reason why only bricks I think. It's all about money, the more they can make without spending a lot money to develop something new, the better for their wallets. That's maybe why there wasn't any 806 on CES. They chose trendy RGB instead of something new, more unique

i suppose that makes sense, though mainstream companies with dough to spare should, at the very least, try to experiment with new ideas. a world of diversity is a better world to live in, even when it comes down to PC cases and not liking bricks :P
