Buy rx 580 or wait for VEGA?

Guanzo

So I'm going to build a PC starting august and want the best graphics for the price. i will be using a Ryzen 1500x and either an rx-480 or rx-580 depending on the price gap at the time. my question is, with Vega coming soon, should i wait for Vega? and will vega even include cards at the sub $250 price? (my gpu budget is around $210)

I think he means the custom cooled cards. But for the question about the price, I think Vega was made to compete with Nvidia's high end cards, so the price probably won't be that low. At least I don't think so

You should buy an R5 1400 instead unless they're the same price

if you're only gaming at 1080p a 580 is fine

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Vega is out. It sucks for the price if you're gaming. No, Vega won't be anywhere close to $210 any time soon. If you want a new GPU for 200 buy an RX 580, 570, or 1060 6GB. All of them perform within 15% of each other, so get the best one you can afford.

Main System: EVGA GTX 1080 SC, i7 8700, 16GB DDR4 Corsair LPX 3000mhz CL15, Asus Z370 Prime A, Noctua NH D15, EVGA GQ 650W, Fractal Design Define R5, 2TB Seagate Barracuda, 500gb Samsung 850 Evo
Secondary System: EVGA GTX 780ti SC, i5 3570k @ 4.5ghz, 16gb DDR3 1600mhz, MSI Z77 G43, Noctua NH D15, EVGA GQ 650W, Fractal Design Define R4, 3TB WD Caviar Blue, 250gb Samsung 850 Evo

The 580 is more than enough. Get the 580 Red Devil Golden Sample which is hand picked to run at higher clocks, mine does 1500Mhz oc stable.

IT runs faster than 1060.

I mean Vega's current price. 1070 is cheaper than Vega.

I never buy Nvidia cards. Because of pricey G-Sync monitors.
