7700k vs 8700k or other

I would only use it for Gaming and general web browsing, nothing special. I'm comfortable with my current 6600k but at 1440p/144hz it bottlenecks really hard on some games (Even though for some reason most people don't believe it).

So which CPU i should get? The most important thing i want from this upgrade is to get a CPU with high end gaming performance, THAT WILL NOT BOTTLENECK MY SYSTEM ANY TIME SOON. I don't want to play at 100% CPU usage on Battlefield 1 anymore.

The 8700k not because it’s newer, but because it has more cores (6 from 4) and more threads (12 from 8)

if your budget is enough 8700k is better caz you have to buy a new motherboard. I finally chose 7700K caz I had no sufficient bucks...

I believe u when u say the 6600k can bottleneck games, i had my 2600k running at 4.8ghz and it still bottlenecked some games, and the 6600k has no hyperthreading=100% load=bottleneck.

it'd be an upgrade but you'd have to get a beefy cooler for the 8700k too and aim for high clocks, but if you are not gonna delid, i'd just stick with the 6600k or

go for a i7 8700, get a board with MCE and run it at 4.6/4.7 24/7.

I'd definitely get the i7 8700k, especially if you have a high refresh rate monitor!

7700k is the worst purchase, its a slight optimization for the 6700k, and people had said it has the most heat problems out of all other previous Intel chips, 8700k is cooler than the 7700k and its unique for once, since intel has been using quad core for the past decade.........

I think you mean Ryzen 2, Pinnacle Ridge 12nm. Zen 2 7nm will be realeased either in late 2018 or early 2019.

If you already have the 6600k in terms of upgrades I'd say it's basically the 8700k or bust. Nothing else is worth the trouble or money.
