I mean...AMD has ReLive guys, does the same thing, potentially works slightly better sometimes as well.

Also neglected Free-sync savings potentially if someone's upgrading their GPU and Monitor.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

2:33 to 5:30  It's that music from Luke's Personal Rig Update.
Till this day I haven't figured out what music is that. Seriously, you guys need to put in the description ALL the music you use in the video.

I'll be happy with my GTX 780 for a while, I'm not too fussed about finding a good deal on a GPU except a really old PCIe x16 Gen 1 card for my XP system

I just wanted to mention how well done the editing was. Shoutout to Pelle Gustavs (@pellegustavs) for such great work on that. I'm impressed.

I wonder what formula was used to get the % of difference to the 1070.

Trying to make my own spreadsheet where I input the prices of cards in my country, so far the difference is between 120-140% more expensive.

All formulas are in the spreadsheet linked in the OP, here you go: GPU analysis spreadsheet: geni.us/s1Jytb

Oh sweet, didn't see that :D Wasn't linked below the YT video so didn't think it was public.

Edit: Found what I was looking for, the "Avg perf vs 1070" is a total of the avrage fps for each resolution from each game. Thoose numbers again are the difference between the fps for that card vs the 1070.

This video just validated me on my Power Color RX 580 8GB purchase this morning on Newegg.

Using the Masterpass code and $10 rebate, the card comes out to $215. That is how much this card SHOULD cost.

I've been kicking myself after not picking up an RX 480 last year for $180~.

With inflation and the slight boost in performance, I am okay with this :)

Picked up a EVGA 1060 SC 3GB for 250 canadian (USD ~200).... okay deal.

Fits the budget, don't play AAA games. It will be a nice improvement upon my "old" 1050.

What do you honestly think of our methodology? We're always looking to improve.

The eldest part of any of my computers is (nearly) always the monitor.

I think a follow up / part 2 video would be interesting, especially if it included considerations such as monitor choice ie G-Sync or freesync. And maybe a comparison for less demanding games, thinking cards like the 1030, or even IGP

Depends what monitor your using or planning to use , 1080ti is not a 4k card if you want to hold a rock solid 60fps , it is however a great 1440p@ 144hz card , 1080 is a great 1080p card at 144hz  not quite man enough for 144hz on every game , everything under the 1080 are good 1080p 60hz cards , based on my own preferences of  wanting to hold monitors refresh rate consistently and use max settings in every game without considering freesync / gsync
