Are my monitor's colors accurate? (different color from two monitors)

0utf0xZer0

Hello,

For work reasons I split my time between two residences, and I have one monitor that I use for post processing photos at each.  Both are inexpensive IPS or PLS displays, one a Samsung S27F350 (PLS panel) bought in 2016 and the other a Asus ML239H (IPS panel) bought in 2011.  The two produce different enough images that I find myself processing photos slightly different depending which I'm using, so I was thinking of selling the Asus to my brother (who wants an IPS monitor) and getting a second S27F350 on Black Friday.

My only concern is whether the Samsung's colors are accurate.  This review suggests the S27F350's little brother, the S24F350, has pretty accurate color:

But I remember the S27F350 having a fairly strong yellow tinge out of the box.  The Asus did too, but the Samsung required more correction to get rid of it.

Any thoughts?

If you're doing photo work, you should probably invest in a calibration tool. While monitors are precalibrated, they're far from perfect. Unless of course you're spending huge money for it, which your monitors aren't anywhere near (they're often well in excess of $1,000).
