Cables may be touching back of motherboard

Is it ok if some plastic fan extension headers are touching the back of the motherboard through the cut out in the case? I can move them but I can't be bothered and I just wondered if it could damage it

Cables are insulated, it is fine as long as there isn't pressure squeezing them onto the back of the board.

The only problem would be metal on metal contact, but with an insulated cable this is a non-issue. Just make sure you don't deform the cable too much, as this could damage the cable in the end.

Being physically "crushed" behind the motherboard is another thing and could be bad.. Especially if one of the sharp "pins" that are poking out the back.. Those of metal, because of how things are soldered onto the board pierces the wire.. You're gonna have a bad time.

There may be a bit of force but nothing that would crush it between the back panel and motherboard. I may have a look and try to move it just to be safe at a later date.
