phone charges laptop instead

Hi folks,

I ran into a rather odd situation,

I have a MacBook Pro 2017 and a Galaxy A5 2017 and when I plug the phone into the laptop it starts charing up from the phone!

I connected them with the type C cable delivered with the macbook to connect to the wall brick, is this the problem because it is a charge cable instead of a data cable?

Thnx for the help!

the dongle book "pro" does have some issues that need to be ironed out, does your phone have a charging mode?

I know, it was a requirement for entering art school!
My phone show options for the usb connection but when I change it it disconnects and enters the same mode.

There might not be a solution.

Try maybe going through a Type-c > type-a > type-c dongle.

Deal with it, its a feature.

Just kidding, i know more about just about anything other than Mac. I refuse to touch those weird things. That were computers in the 80's and 90's don't know what they are now. Art mixed with frustration?
