How to Remove Linux and Install Windows

My friend is getting a new laptop, and the best I found has Linux on it. From what I do expect, I should be able to access BIOS, then boot from USB drive (with Windows) and replace it somehow, right?

You should be able to just delete the Linux partition in the Windows installer, create a new volume, format, then install.

Normally if you boot into windows installation (typically from a usb) you have the option to format a drive before installing Windows. This is how I have done it. Just when you get to the point in Windows installation where you have to select what drive to install on, select the one that has Linux currently, then at the bottom should be the option to format. After a few second it should be clean and ready for Windows.

just a little tipp...

 

when there is only one drive inside the laptop, make a for example 100 gig partition for the os, use the rest for data/games etc... so when a fresh install is needed, the data stays on the second partition (if put there) and no worries losing data then.

If the laptop comes with Linux then I'd generally stick with Linux. Unless your friend plans on gaming on his laptop then Linux will be fine.

Yeah, he wants to do gaming, however he got another laptop already :D
