this build is for my friend, i told him that u get more for a cheap case, and i told him to get a ryzen  (just preference) and he insisted.

The board may come with an updated, BIOS, cant know for sure (Can only be done otherwise with a Skylake CPU). Would go with Ryzen though.

If you want to stay within the price of your original build then this setup is better. If you can go a bit higher, then swap the R5 1400 for a R5 1600, it would cost $18 more than your original build but you get a 6Core/12Thread CPU.

With your level of budget in mind, it is hard to fit in an SSD. They're fantastic tech, but not cheap. It would be a significant increase to your budget. One solution which wouldn't cost much more than the storage you've listed, however, is to consider going with an SSHD or Solid-State Hybrid Drive (Current Seagate branding: FireCuda).

These drives utilize an SSD cache for your most frequently accessed data so that it gives faster load-time performance, then also has a larger spinning storage capacity so that you still get solid storage space bang for your buck.
