What do you consider "playable" FPS?

miyabwah

Generally 60+. But some games it is fine if it goes under a bit.

I used to be happy with anything over 30 when I mostly stuck to consoles but after fully swapping over to pc and playing games at 60 fps for a few months now anything under 50 is unbearable :/

Used to say 60fps was acceptable, now I can't stand anything less than 90-100fps on my 120Hz panel. If it means turning settings down to get there, then it must be done!

If I love a game ( with 1 exception) I will play it for as low as 30 fps. If its below 30 fps, I will even give up on a very good game.

First, ''playable'' is perceived differently.

Second, playable framerate from a certain same point of view, is different for every person.

Since you have 2 variables, I don't think you could get much out of your poll.

30 is playable, as in I can play a game like The Last of Us and enjoy it without focusing on the framerate, but I like 60 and that's what I aim for with the PC if my PC was only achieving 30fps in my games I'd upgrade for 60.

If it's a multiplayer fps I want north of 100 for responsiveness, and I won't consider less than 60 playable.

30 for singleplayer, 60 for multiplayer.

But it also depends on genre of game. I prefer my first person shooters to be running at 60+, though I'm fine with 30 FPS RTSs.

The only time 1 FPS is acceptable is minesweeper.

29 is like a minimum for me until it goes to unplayable.

If I'm having fun: maybe 45+

For competitive fast actiony games like CSS, Battlefield, TF2: 60+ FPS.

Look at my rig. I have to deal with 30 ,so I'm fine with it. I also game on consoles (due to this being a family rig) so I'm used to 30.

I play basically all games on minimum settings just to get max framerate, even though I don't have to most of the time. Under 60 is unplayable in multiplayer to me (thats my excuse for sucking in BF4 by the way).

Well yeah I used to think 30 was good, and thought 60 was unnecessary, but that was up until I played on 60 fps, on console playing BF3 you couldn't really tell all the animations because of the low framerate, but on 60 fps you can even notice the hammer going back when shooting a revolver, so yeah, I won't go back to 30, I would be willing to put everything on very low 480p just to get 60 fps, but yeah, I only say it's "unacceptable" because I can notice when I dip under 60, and I don't like inconsistency on my framerates (or anything really) so I just try to get as much fps as I can even tho my monitor is 60hz, just so I don't notice it going under 60 fps, yes, kind of OCD, but whatever :P
