iPhone 8 likely won't ship by its September deadline

The tech giant won't be able to get mass quantities of the iPhone 8 until November or December due to OLED production problems, China's Economic Daily News is reporting, citing sources. Suppliers will reportedly only be able to ship "in small volumes," according to Digitimes, which earlier discovered the report. Whether Apple will ship those small volumes is unknown.

So...sky-high resale prices, anyone?

Switching to OLED but I hope we can see such monitors too.

Pretty much expected this. Better to do this than compromise on features. Hopefully they will announce the 8 in September but have it ship later.

Did you guys read the article? There is a 7s (and a 7s plus) which are also late.

I've heard burnin is a big issue with monitors.

i5 6600k and GTX 1070 but I play 1600-900. 1440p BABY!

Still, don't put too much faith in my buying decisions. xD

I know color accuracy is/was an issue on OLED. I wonder what they are doing about that

This happens like every year, some will get it in September, more in october, and november pretty much everyone will get it.

The post/quote isn't worded clearly, most rumors I've seen say that the iPhone 8 won't be RELEASED until November because of supply issues. 

 

With previous launches, the device is released in September, but it takes until November-ish for supply to satisfy all orders. This seems to be a release in November with delivery into the following weeks/months (December/January).

I have a samsung (note 3), thats how I know the color accuracy is garbage. I took a (real) colorblindness test on it and got yellow-blue color blindness. In reality (and on a standard lcd) I have red-green deficiency! Big difference there!

Ummmm....OLED tvs can achieve amazing color accuracy and have you seen the rating of the S8 screen?

I know, same principle though except instead of the task bar for me its health bars and mini maps. 

 

If if you auto hide the task bar you'll be fine.

Which can be adjusted on TVs and monitors. Hell even phones to some extent. Also OLED just has better saturation by nature which people automatically go nuts over.
