ryzen 1600x and noctua dh15 am4 se

Hi there i hit weird issue, i do have new ryzen 5 cpu 1600x and bought noctua cooler i've set up all in thermaltake m9 box with additional 120mm fan and for some reason im getting 50+ on idle and up to 78 celsius under load running stress tests, is this ok ? i expected bit lower values with cpu not being overclocked,

what can be problem ?

Thanks

hmm i will check this but cooler fans speed up to 1450 at reported temp 70+ but it might need bios upgrade, at best it's improper reporting because cooler itself is not warm to touch will check tommorow.

Some software detects it as 20 celcius more than it really is so it sort of is improper reporting... And welcome to the forums! When you reply to people hit the quote button (arrow)

Yeah, I did a whole youtube video on this. Basically AMD wants the chips to take advantage of XFR (Extended Frequency Range) technology that increased the clock on 1-2 cores past the "Turbo" on the card. Its really useless, I have the 1700x and I got a better overclock even though overclocking disables SMT and XFR, still go better performance. Ryzen master did an update back a few months back so you should get the real temps from that.

I would rather agree on what we share, than fight on what we don't. - Myself

I think it's only the X chips that do that stupid 20c offset. My 1600 shows the proper temp without using AMD's jank software.
