Hello all, new on here.

 

First time builder and would like to know you guys opinions on this build. UK build and just the barebones as I have a mouse, keyboard monitor and windows 10 to download.

get a better psu, the XT isn't actually very good. the seasonic eco and corsair CX450M are both better for a few pounds more. get a regular 1tb hdd and ssd instead of a hybrid. i'd get a pci-e wifi adaptor instead of a usb one.

Ditch the Hybrid drive, get a barracuda and an ssd, will be significantly faster.

Get a better PSU, either Corsair CXm 450w or a Seasonic 520w s12ii

I wouldn't worry about additonal case fans at the start.

Get a PCI-E wifi card, it will give you wayyyy better wifi than a dongle.

Get 1 stick of 8gb of Ram, so it's easier to upgrade to 16gb in the future.

 

Basically look at @herman mcpootis's build, since it is what I basically laid out.

Isn't it easier to add 1 stick to 1 stick to dual channel, compared to adding 1 stick to 2 that may not play nice together?

You can just add 2 to 2.

Wouldn't you have to worry about the ram not playing nice with each other, thought that was a thing when adding additonal ram.

If you get the same kit no. Heck I think different kits work fine together as long as the timings and stuff are the same.
