Laptop cooler/ cooling pad for use on lap/ in bed

Hey there, I'm looking for a laptop cooler for my xps 15 (235mm x 357mm or about a 14") that I can use on my lap without my legs hurting like hell, but also that can draw in enough air to cool it while gaming on it.

Do you guys have any recommendations?

Thanks!

Just place a book or something hard and flat under it, and you'll be fine.

I got the 9550 version with a gtx 960M and a quadcore i5 (and the new one comes with a gtx 1050), so the only real problem is the temperature.

I can recommend the Coolermaster Notepal U2+. You can place fans wherever you like it, it looks better than most of them and it's not full metal. Quite cheap as well. Like $25 max in my country.

Mind you, don't expect temp drops, if you get 2-3 C you can be happy. Cooling pads aren't miracle workers.

The ability to google properly is a skill of its own.

Laptop coolers genuinely won't help temps a whole hell of a lot. Even with my laptop (a Latitude E4310 with an i5 M580) the most I see from strapping a 70mm 5K RPM fan right to the vent is about 5-6C. And laptop coolers won't move nearly as much air.

Doesn't the laptop slide off it?

I got this problem with the other cooling pad I've got because there's very little friction because of the round feet of the xps...

Really? When I use my sh!tty cooling pad, my laptop goes from useless at gaming for more than 2 hours to being pretty cool to the touch.

Guess it's different from laptop to laptop...

It doesn't. At least not a single one that I had had that problem, and I've tested 1 HP, 1 Asus, 1 Lenovo and 2 Toshiba. It's quite stable. Don't know about XPS. This is my current laptop, no issues.
