Looking for new monitor (1440p, high refresh rate)

Fede134sama

Hi everyone, I'm looking to buy a new monitor to pair with my new rig. I need something with a 2560x1440 resolution, with a decent refresh rate (anything more than 60 is a leap forward for me), preferably IPS. I really don't care for Freesync (I have a nvidia gpu) or Gsync (it costs way too much). Any advice?

I really do not have an idea of what the average price for that kind of product would be (hoping the grammar is ok lol). So let's say I have an open budget, than I'll value the options, hoping that I can afford something on the list :|

Dell S2417DG?

That seems like a great monitor, but I don't think OP will want to pay 600€ for it xD

Also it's TN, and he prefer IPS.

I'm using P2416D from Dell. It should be 60Hz, but have no problems running at 75Hz. It's also very cheap.

Intel i7 12700K | Gigabyte Z690 Gaming X DDR4 | Pure Loop 240mm | G.Skill 3200MHz 32GB CL14 | CM V850 G2 | RTX 3070 Phoenix | Lian Li O11 Air mini

Samsung EVO 960 M.2 250GB | Samsung EVO 860 PRO 512GB | 4x Be Quiet! Silent Wings 140mm fans

The dell S2417DG actually costs less than 500euros on Amazon Italy, and I still do not know how much more I wanto to pay for an IPS considering that color fidelity is important, but not so much. Regarding the P2416D is actually not bad, but I would prefer something with a higher refresh rate, considering that my monitor is OC to 66Hz the difference would be really small...

Imma suggest a few freesync monitors as you can still use them with an nvidia gpu just not the freesync part especially since your not fused about gsync in the first place.

MG278Q - TN 144hz 27" 2560x1440

XF270HU - IPS 144hz 27" 2560x1440

MG279Q - IPS 144hz 27" 2560x1440

As a XF270HU owner I'd say it's worth every penny, got lucky and it has decent blacks and not excessive black light bleed.

CPU: i7 5820k @4.4GHz | MoboMSI MPower X99A | RAM: 16GB DDR4 Quad Channel Corsair LP | GPU: EVGA 1080 FTW Case: Define R5 Black Window | OS: Win 10 Pro

Storage: SanDisk Ultra II 960GB 2x WD Red 4TB | PSU: EVGA 750W G2 | Display:Acer XF270HU + Dell U2515H | Cooling: Phanteks PH-TC14PE

Keyboard: Ducky One  TKL Browns | Mouse: Steel Series Rival 300 | Sound: DT990s

These are interesting, thanks for your suggestion. I was wondering, are there any high refresh rate monitor without gsync and freesync? I would assume it would lower the price, but I never saw one without freesync

Not really, freesync doesn't add any price it seems as it's just a standard and doesn't contain and extra hardware like gsync does.

Interesting... So I think I'm going to pick a freesync one, just to avoid paying for the gsync module. The differences between a TN panel and an IPS one justify the difference in price?
