Is it possible to increase quality of low resolution video?

Hello, I have a bit of a problem. I have a video filmed on my phone way back. It was filmed on a phone that had 1.3MP camera. The video is a 176x144 resolution. I want to use this video as a present to my cousin to remember good old times, but if I try to re-watch it on my 1080p monitor or a projector it looks all messed up and barely anything is visible. If I watch on my phone it looks a tad bit better. 

 

Is there any way to increase the quality of my video so I could at least play it on a projector and people would be able to at least see whats going on or should I just quit trying at all?

You can upscale it. Buy you cant make it higher quality.

Yes, but video is nothing more than just a bunch of pictures rapidly playing. By enhancing each frame of a video you can get better looking video.

Better start now then... It will take a while to fix 5000k+ pictures....

You can write a script to automatically do it for you using AHK. https://autohotkey.com/

you cant just use the same thing on every diffrent shot there is diffrent lighting angles it would never work

I do it all the time, free 720 pornhub videos become 1080p in no time. If you have some time to spare it will even go up to 4k. WORTH.

Also somehow i'll need to make all frames to pictures and then put them back to a video...

there is a tool that turns a video into photos that u can then edit (i used to use it to make custom boot animations for android phones)

I have heard about a technique that do need a lot of computing power to do, that what it does is from a video (but the subject or camera have to not stand still) it like analyses every frame and from that guesses how it would be if it was higher ress, from the thing its a video of moving "between pixels" but it wont make it that much better, just a little bit. 

But that res is probably too low anyway, and that technique is most likely in development I have heard of one time or something, I dont know.
