Aging Workhorse:  Phenom II X6 1090T Black (4GHz #Yolo), 16GB Corsair XMS 1333, RX 470 Red Devil 4gb (Sold for $330 to Cryptominers), HD6850 1gb, Hilariously overkill Asus Crosshair V, 240gb Sandisk SSD Plus, 4TB's worth of mechanical drives, and a bunch of water/glycol.  Coming soon:  Bykski CPU block, whatever cheap Polaris 10 GPU I can get once miners start unloading them.

 

MintyFreshMedia:  Thinkserver TS130 with i3-3220, 4gb ecc ram, 120GB Toshiba/OCZ SSD booting Linux Mint XFCE, 2TB Hitachi Ultrastar.  In Progress:  3D printed drive mounts, 4 2TB ultrastars in RAID 5.

After I finish some upgrades, I'll be giving a bunch of my old hardware to a friend so he can get back into gaming.  The 8 gigs of ram, mATX AM3 motherboard, and a semi-acceptable 560w PSU sitting on a shelf sure sounds to me like it's a case, $50 Phenom II X4, discount RX470, and a storage drive away from being a decent 1080p gaming setup.

OCed R7 1700 @ 4.0 GHz: 2251 / 4.0 = 562.75

Why would they shout that when their CPUs are overclocked they're are faster than an Intel part from the rooftops?

Here's my take on all of this. I go to Micro Center THIS MORNING to pick up my preorder and pick out a board (too many good options). If the reviews come out at 9am and they are not good, hey, I get to go to 2011-3 or 1151 i7 and save money. But if it's the same or better, AMD, here I come.
